The Japanese have some of the most wonderful customs and traditions regarding business cards, what they stand for and how they should be treated. That is my inspiration for this site, it is a place where people who are proud of their business cards can showcase them.
A Meishi is a Japanese business card. Yongō is an ancient paper size used in Japan as the standard size for Meishi's, it is 91 x 55 mm (about 3⅝" x 2¼").
"On Yongō" is a site dedicated to the what people have on their business cards.
We are at very early days with onYongo, there is a lot to come, but we hope you find what we have so far of interest and use, please look around
Some things we are aware of and are trying to fix asap:
- The Captcha is a bit of a pain, it needs tweaking
- The Captcha is currently only visual, a huge apology to any visually impaired visitors, we are working on getting an Audio Captcha in place ASAP (in the mean time, please email me your card and I will manually add it for you)
You can't currently edit your uploaded image, or change it in edit mode, that will be implemented pretty quickly- Password reset in case you forget it, is coming
- Convert input data into a vcard that can be downloaded by a visitor
- Uploading multiple cards, both ones that are yours and ones you might have designer for clients
- Searching / filtering for multiple tags (currently only supports single ones)
- Some sort of feedback or grading system, maybe something as simple as marking cards you like as "I like", just so we can show the ones that seem to be popular
- ....lots of other ideas, but nothing too radical or crazy
The aim is to keep things simple, focus on business cards and their varied designs, layouts, card stocks, colors and other variations
